Today the Swiss Chopin Society of Basel
consists of about 200 members. Among them are many musicians of international
reputation as well as personalities from other cultural domains,
but
also students, pupils and amateurs of any age.
From time to time the members of our society who are musically active
have the opportunity of showing their talents at internal events,
which include exhibitions, readings and concerts.
At the traditional “Après Concerts” that take place
after these internal performances our members can engage in conversations
with our artists and have stimulating discussions with each other.
These get-togethers are very popular because they promote the personal
contacts within our society.
Moreover, the Swiss Chopin Society of Basel organizes at least one
cultural trip every year, so to speak “in the footsteps”
of Chopin. During these trips many of the places where the great composer
lived are visited in order to familiarize our members with his personality
and his works.

“Membership” for further
information.
The Swiss Chopin Society of Basel publishes
an annual review magazine every year, which contains all of the important
information about the society and its events as well as a detailed
concert program of the season. This magazine is sent to our members
but is also available in music stores, music institutions
and other
public places. |
